Cola Pulled Beef (or Chicken or Pork)
Pork roasts or boneless skinless chicken breasts also work.
Any non-diet soda. Cherry Dr. Pepper being my favorite.
Use your favorite or make your own.
Put the roast in the crock pot.
(Optional: Trim the fat off first for a slightly healthier meal)
Take a swig of the soda, then pour the rest over the roast.
Turn the crock pot on high for 4-6 hours.
Take the roast out of the slow cooker and place it on a large cutting board. Pull it apart completely.
Pour the juices left in the slow cooker through a metal strainer in to a bowl. Discard what’s left in the strainer, save the juices.
Put the pulled beef back in to the slow cooker.
Slowly pour the juices back in until it is as moist as you desire. I usually end up using about half.
Mix in the BBQ sauce to taste. About 1/3 – 1/2 of a jar is usually enough.
Set your slow cooker to warm until everything is heated through again.
Serve on buns, texas toast, or just eat it with a fork.
